Thread Waxing Space

Invited to install a work for "Mssr. B's Curio Shop" within the Thread Waxing Space, I selected the abandoned elevator. Within the box, I placed a 4 X 5 inch TV monitor in the back and built 2 viewing chambers to the front. The face was enclosed and painted. The viewer hears silent movie piano music, approaches the light, and, peeps at a crowd of whirling dervishes dancing around a golden calf. The scene is a ten second loop from Cecil B. de Mille’s 1923 version of "The Ten Commandments". The cow stuck over his is plastic painted with gold leaf and labeled RARE that was stuck in my hamburger while discussing the work over lunch with the exhibition curator.
